My name is Ray and I am the ‘SKY PAINTR’.
I have spent my life fascinated with skies.
We can’t get away from them and they
dominate our lives –but do we really notice?
Do we really see what colour,
what textures, the skies portray?
Using oil sticks, I interpret skies with
short diagonal strokes on a black canvas.
Layering colour beside colour, it builds
into a dramatic, moving, textural ‘heaven’
anchored by a minimalist earthen base.
I have previously exhibited and sold works
in Melbourne, Australia... commissions welcome.
My passion is creating works of art
whether it be oil paintings as here,
creating digital portraits (pictopia.co.nz),
or branding and design work
for businesses.
